King Kong vs. Godzilla (1962)

So, first, a brief note about these articles:

Things have gotten a bit busier between work and college for me. I don't do this full time, and it's really just a hobby for me for now. I'd love to do stuff like this full time, but it's just not financially viable.

That said, I do want to continue to watch these movies, and keep you all updated about my opinions of them. So what I'm going to do from nnow on is make a brief, short post about my thoughts on the movie, after I watch them. No schedule, no lengthy recap. Just a couple paragraphs about what I thought of the movie. Maybe someday in the future, I'll go back and revisit this idea, but for now, this is what the reviews will look like:

The Review

Well, I didn't love it. It was largely forgettable. The human characters were boring and one-dimensional, and the only reason to watch the movie was for the giant monsters fights, which, let me tell you...

Both of the character designs were laughable. Godzilla was bad, but King Kong looked like an actual joke. Like, if the "Scary Movie" crew were around back then and made "Kaiju Movie", this is what they would look like. It was ridiculous!

Also, the fights were pretty lackluster. Their first scuffle involved King Kong throwing boulders at G, and missing, until he just gave up and walked away, annoyed. I wasn't sure if that was supposed to be funny or not, but it was.

All in all, I was pretty unimpressed. I wanted more out of this film, but ultimately, I would say this is one you could skip, if you were only looking for the best. Hopefully, next year's Godzilla vs. Kong is a massive improvement.
